EXCHANGE RATES

If you have entered and maintained transaction currency information on the Exchange Rates subtask of the Enter/Manage Sales Orders screen, use this subtask to view the exchange rate information between the assigned transaction currency (for example, for customer sales orders) and your organization's functional (base) currency for financial reporting. You link the transaction to the selected Rate Group on the Enter/Manage Exchange Rate Groups screen in Multicurrency. Other fields on this subtask (Rate Group, Rate Date, Rate, Trans to Func or Trans to Euro, N/A or Euro to Func) are maintained on the Enter/Manage Sales Orders screen, and behave the same on the Exchange Rates subtask in the Accounting folder.

Use this subtask to view exchange rate information from the Enter/Manage Sales Orders screen.

Sales Order

This field displays the sales order ID for the selected line.

Status

This field displays the status of the sales order.

Trans Currency

This field displays the transaction currency of the sales order line item.

Customer

These fields display the customer from the Enter/Manage Sales Orders screen.

Transaction Currency

This non-editable field defaults from the Enter/Manage Sales Orders screen. The unlabeled field to the right displays the currency name.

Rate Group

This field displays the rate group from the sales order. The unlabeled field to the right displays the rate group name.

Transactional Currency to Functional Currency Exchange Rate Info

This group box contains non-editable transaction and functional currency exchange rate information for the sales order.

Rate Date

This field displays the date or period in which the exchange rate should be used for this sales order.

Rate

This field displays the actual exchange rate between the selected Rate Group and Transaction Currency fields. For transaction to functional currency exchange rates, the exchange rate for non-Euro currencies defaults. However, if you are using Euro currency, the product of transaction currency to Euro and Euro to functional currency exchange rates displays.

Freeze Rate

You cannot modify this check box on this subtask.

If selected, this check box halts any activity associated with the exchange rate information referenced on this subtask. This suspension occurs after a transaction is posted.

In this circumstance, Costpoint ignores any subsequent updates to the exchange rate throughout the life of this record. In this case, all evaluations of this record are based on the exchange rate at the time the transaction posted.

For example, if the Rate field displays .2000000, as it relates to the Dutch Gilder (NLG) and U.S. Dollar (USD) transaction to functional exchange rate, this value does not change as long as the Freeze Rate check box remains selected. Even if the actual, real-time rate fluctuates, the data in this subtask remains constant.

Trans to Func

This field displays the conversion rate for the transaction currency for this sales order. If you use the Euro currency, this field displays Trans to Euro, and the product of transaction currency to Euro and Euro to functional currency exchange rates displays.

N/A

This field displays as Euro to Func if you are using Euro currency; however, if you use transaction to functional direct conversion, this displays as a blank field.
