Use this subtask to view part/project information for the part on the line selected in the main screen. Use it whenever part/project information is required.
This field displays the part ID shown on the main screen.
This field displays the revision of the part ID.
This field displays the description for the part ID.
This field displays the unit of measure assigned to the part ID.
This group box displays information about the part planning for the part ID.
This field displays the planning type for this part and indicates how this item will be considered for requirement planning and reporting. Planning data is established in the Manage Part Project Data screen in Costpoint Product Definition. The various types are:
None — This type is the system default and requires no planning type consideration.
MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) — This type indicates that the part will be planned by MRP.
Reorder — This type indicates that the part is not planned by MRP but still requires planning.
MPS (Master Production Scheduling) — This type indicates that parts with an MPS planning type will be excluded from MRP processes.
This field displays the total lead time that is calculated in Costpoint Product Definition.
This field displays the order policy type for the part and indicates the lot-sizing technique to be used for this part in Costpoint Material Requirement Planning (MRP). The various types are:
Discrete Lot Size — This type requires that the planned order quantity always equal the quantity of the net requirements.
Min/Mult Lot Size — This type requires that the planned order quantity meet the minimum and multiple lot sizes.
Order to Point — This type indicates that the inventory reorder process will automatically place a purchase requisition for this part whenever the inventory quantity is less than or equal to the reorder point.
Period — This type requires that the lot size equal net requirements for the specified number of shop calendar days.
Reorder Point — This type indicates that the inventory Reorder Process will automatically place a purchase requisition for this part whenever the quantity on hand is reduced to or below a specified level (reorder point level).
This field displays Y (Yes) if the part is a common stock part, which means that it is not tied to a particular project but ordered as part of a common pool of items. Otherwise, this field displays N (No).
This field displays the minimum lot size for specifying that the calculated planned order will always be at least equal to the specified lot size when meeting net requirements.
If Period is displayed in the Order Policy field, this field displays the number of shop days for which the MRP system will combine net requirements to create a planned order.
This field displays the default planner assigned to the part for planning purposes.
This field displays Y (Yes) if the part is floor stock, which means that it is a bulk issue part, and therefore is available at all times. Otherwise, this field displays N (No).
This field displays the multiple lot size for specifying that the calculated planned order is always a multiple of the specified lot size when meeting net requirements.
This field displays the scrap percentage for this part. This is the best estimate of what percentage of these parts will be accidentally destroyed, lost, or otherwise rendered unusable.
This field displays the default buyer assigned to the part for planning purposes.
This field displays Y (Yes) if the part is a backflush part, which means Costpoint will automatically deduct it from inventory when a manufacturing order is completed. Otherwise, this field displays N (No).
This field displays the maximum quantity that can be placed in any one order. If the order quantity is greater than the maximum quantity, it will be split into several orders, each not exceeding the maximum quantity.
This field displays the yield percentage for the part. It indicates the percentage of losses that can be expected during manufacture or assembly of this part.
This table window displays project information for the part.
This field displays the ID of the project.
This field displays the name of the project.
This field displays the abbreviation of the project.
This field displays the safety stock assigned to the part for the project on the line.
This field displays the reorder point quantity level of inventory that will be used to create requisitions when the part planning type is Reorder Point.
Requisitions, when reordered, will bring the inventory up to this inventory level quantity.
This field displays Y (Yes) if substitute parts are allowed for the part/project combination. Otherwise, this field displays N (No).
