Use this screen to view a bills of material (BOM) for a selected assembly part number. You can view only one assembly part at a time. You can choose the number of component levels to display and which configurations to include.
After you make your specifications, click on the toolbar to display the information in the Component Lines table window.
Use this group box to provide basic information about the assembly.
Use this field to enter, or use to select, the ID of the assembly or parent part of the BOM to view based on the BOM Type. The part description displays in the unlabeled field below.
If you select the Manufacturing option in the BOM Type group box, you can enter or select only standard parts for this field.
If you select Engineering from the BOM Type group box, you can use the Lookup Type drop-down list to select whether to enter or lookup standard or provisional parts in this field.
Use this field to enter, or use to select, the Part revision.
Use this drop-down list to specify whether to lookup Standard or Provisional parts in the Part field. This field is automatically set to Standard when you select Manufacturing from the BOM Type drop-down list.
Use this group box to specify BOM level explosions you want to view.
Use this drop-down list to specify the component levels you want to view. The available options are:
Single-Level — Select this option to include only the first-level components of this assembly.
All Levels — Select this option to include all components of this assembly with their related level numbers.
Specify — Select this option to explode components of this assembly up to a specific number of levels. Use the adjacent unlabeled field to enter the number of levels you want to include on this inquiry.
Clear this check box to stop the explosion of phantom parts at the lowest level as specified in the BOM Levels drop-down list.
This check box is automatically selected and disabled if you select All Levels from the BOM Levels drop-down list.
Use this group box to customize the report to print BOMs for all configurations, a specific configuration, or a specific date.
Select this check box to view the components for all configurations/effectivities of the parent part. This option is available only if you select Single Level from the BOM Levels drop-down list.
Clear this check box to view component information based on the As of Date and Configuration fields.
Use this field to enter, or use to select, the component effective date. Costpoint will load only those lines with effective starting and ending dates corresponding to this date. This field is disabled if the Show All Configurations check box is selected.
Use this field to enter, or use to select, the BOM configuration ID you want to view.
This field is enabled if you select the Use Configuration IDs check box in the BOM Corporate Settings block of the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen.
If you enter a configuration ID, the data on the Component Lines table window depends on whether that configuration ID appears on a given assembly line. If a line exists with the entered configuration ID, that line will print. If no line exists with the entered configuration ID, but there is a line without a configuration ID, the line without a configuration ID will print. If a line cannot be found that contains either the entered configuration ID or an empty configuration ID field, no line will print.
Use this group box to run the inquiry against the assembly part's manufacturing bills of material (MBOM) or engineering bills of material (EBOM), based upon the BOM type selection.
Select this option to run the inquiry against the assembly part's MBOM. You can enter only standard parts in the Part field when you select this option.
Select this option to run the inquiry against the assembly part's EBOM. You can select either standard or provisional components in the Part field if you select this option. This option is enabled when you select the Use Engineering Bills of Materials check box in the BOM Corporate Settings block of the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen.

This table window lists the component lines of the assembly part, subject to your specifications above.
This field displays the level of the component line in the BOM of the part. This field is hidden if you selected Single-Level from the BOM Levels drop-down list.
This field displays the line number for the BOM component line.
This field displays the drawing find number for the BOM component line.
This field displays the component part number for the BOM line.
This field displays the last component part revision for the BOM line.
This field displays the description of the component part/revision.
This field is visible only if the Use Part Data Security Controls check box is selected on the Configure Product Definition Settings screen, which indicates that the part/revision is subject to data security restrictions, as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
If enabled, this field displays one of the following values to indicate whether the part/revision you are accessing is subject to part data security restrictions and whether you have the necessary authorization to access information for that item:
Unrestricted — The part is not subject to data security restrictions.
Restricted — The part is subject to data security restrictions and that you are authorized to access detailed part information.
***UNAUTHORIZED*** — The part is subject to data security restrictions and you are not authorized to access or view part information. This value is displayed in red background color.
This field displays the component type code. The various types are:
B — Buy with Components
S — Standard
P — Phantom
R — Reference
T — Tool
This field displays the quantity type code. The various types are:
A (Per Assembly) — The component quality will be multiplied by the number of the assembly to be created.
O (Per Order) — The component quantity will be required for each assembly manufacturing or purchase order created.
R (As Required) — The component requirements are not generated for this assembly.
This field displays the quantity of component parts that are required for the assembly based on the Inv U/M field.
This field displays the inventory unit of measure for the component.
This field displays if the component is manufactured (Make) or purchased (Buy).
This field displays the date on which this component becomes effective in the BOM.
This field contains the date on which this component ceases to be effective in the BOM.
This field displays Y (Yes) if this component has been released in the BOM. Otherwise, this field displays N (No).
This field displays the ID of the configuration in which this component will be used when planning this MBOM.
This field displays the description of the Configuration.
This field displays any comments that apply to the selected BOM component.
This field displays Y (Yes) if the component is a subassembly. Otherwise, this field displays N (No).
