This screen is designed as a planning and reference tool that, when linked with Costpoint Production Control and Material Requirements Planning (MRP), automatically feeds proper MBOM configuration and effective date information based on the project or serial number for which the end item is being produced. Do not use these links for as-built purposes, unless you need to reconcile the planned configuration with the actual as-built configuration for a serial number.
You can enter starting and ending serial numbers and/or manufacturing bill of material (MBOM) as-of dates. If you enter a starting serial number and the ending serial number is left blank, that configuration will be used for all serial numbers of that part after the starting serial number is reached. You can also link projects to individual part/revision/configuration combinations.
Use this screen to establish and maintain relationships between configurations and serial numbers. To facilitate production planning and control, use this screen before creating MBOMs.
Use this block to establish the end item to which you want to link configuration IDs.
Use this field to enter, or use to select, the part ID of the end item to which you want to link configuration IDs.
Use this field to enter, or use to select, the part revision of the end item to which you want to link configuration IDs.
Use this group box to view basic information about the selected part.
This field displays the release status of the part.
This field displays the Make if the part is manufactured or Buy if it is purchased.
This field displays the release status (Released or Unreleased) of the MBOM for the part.
This table window displays all configurations linked to the selected part. You can add, edit, or delete configuration IDs using this table window.
Use this field to enter, or use to select, a valid configuration ID to assign to the selected part.
This field displays this configuration's description.
Use this field to enter the starting serial number for which this configuration takes effect.
Use this field to enter the ending serial number for which this configuration takes effec.
Use this field to enter the effective date for this configuration.
