Adding a labor budget with the Consultant Management add-on

unavailable in ajeraCore unless you have the Consultant Management add-on

For any phase with an expense or consultant resource, add a labor budget to include labor amounts in your totals for the phase.

  1. From the project list in the Project Command Center, select the project for which you want to add labor amounts.
  2. For the phase where you want to add a labor budget, click the Manage tab, click the icon in the Description column, and select Add labor budget. A row for the labor appears under the phase.
  3. In the row for labor, complete the following fields:

Type

Enter the type of labor.

Resource

Enter the labor resource.

Reference/Commitment #

Enter an ID that you want to assign to this labor budget item.

Always enter an ID in this field. When later working with vendor invoices, you can enter the reference number to quickly review the project data and commitment amount.

Cost

Enter the amount that you pay the consultant or vendor for this work.

Contract

Enter this amount or change it, if needed. It is the amount that you expect to bill the client. Ajera calculates it for you by multiplying the cost amount by any markups from the applicable rate table. Required for commitments.

Note: You can reset all amounts for the entire project back to the amounts Ajera calculated for you by clicking the icon.

Committed cost invoiced

If you have not yet selected the Project beginning balances complete check box on the Project tab of company preferences, enter the cost amount already invoiced from the vendor against this budget item.

If this column is not visible on the Manage tab, see Adding the Committed columns to the Manage tab.

Committed contract invoiced

If you have not yet selected the Project beginning balances complete check box on the Project tab of company preferences, enter the contract amount you have already invoiced to the client for this budget item.

If this column is not visible on the Manage tab, see Adding the Committed columns to the Manage tab.

Notes

Enter any notes for this budget item.

  1. Click Save.
  2. Click Close.
